It’s that time.  It’s a new year.

365 days of opportunity.  8,760 hours for each of us to use as we choose.

There will be frustrating events.  Challenges and disappointments.

There will happy surprises…times of celebration.

Birthdays and holidays.

Day-to-day, repetitions of chores and habitual tasks.

Seasons that go by.  Current events that grab our attention if just for a moment.

The activity can sweep us up and carry us through the days with such a blurring of days that all of a sudden we’re listening to Christmas carols and Auld Lang Syne again.

What happened to all of that anticipated time?

As I wrap up 2017, my mind keeps returning to the quote, “I would rather fail at something I love then regret not doing anything.”  It’s been a topsy-turvy year.  Many changes.  Unexpected turbulence.  But I have no regrets.  I did my best.

But there was also much to celebrate.  Family times and events that created great memories and will bring joy into the future.  Blessings.

Each year arrives as a blank slate. As we age, they seem to slip by more quickly. Still the 365 days of choice and opportunity belong to each of us.  Days to live as we believe. Days to choose happiness. Days to create memories. Days to cherish even the difficulties and sadness that will undoubtedly visit our lives.

Days to live…consciously.   Intentionally.

Happy New Year!!

May every day be truly yours to embrace and make your own.
